Help keep borders out of our children’s classrooms

News

Since September 2016, the Home Office has been asking school’s across England for the nationality data of their students.

This policy is unnecessary, divisive and puts vulnerable children at risk. It’s part of Theresa May’s self-described ‘hostile environment’ – which is brining borders and racial discrimination into all areas of public and private life. While only in England now, it will likely be rolled out to Scotland, Wales and northern Ireland if it is not challenged.

Schools ABC – an amazing coalition of parents, teachers and activists – have come together to challenge this. They have already won a concession to exclude pre-school 2-5 year-olds in childcare and nurseries.

Now they are taking the government to court to get the whole policy thrown out. It can work: last week, another crowdfunded legal challenge put an end to the goverment’s policy of locking up rough sleepers from the EU.

But they need your help. They have raised almost £10,000 of the £12,000 they need to pay the legal fees – but only have today to collect the remaining money.

A small donation and/or sharing this fundraiser will help them get what they need: https://www.crowdjustice.com/case/againstbordersforchildren/

SUPPORT OUR WORK

On reaching the UK, people face a hostile environment. Without help, many will be forcibly sent back to the wars, persecution and misery they have fled.

Your donation will help us to help people in their struggle for the right to remain in the UK, and to campaign for migration justice
