Come to our next Knowledge is Power workshop on Tuesday 25th July! The session will be taking place on Zoom, from 10am until 12:30pm.
Our Knowledge is Power workshop is designed to help you get to grips with the basics of the asylum system and our Toolkit.
At our Knowledge is Power workshops we share important information about the asylum process and your rights. We will build our confidence in understanding the system, so that you can help yourself, or someone you are supporting, to be in a better position.
Workshops such as this are so important, especially now that language such as ‘illegal’ migration has become commonplace. At Right to Remain we believe that No One is Illegal. Read our Statement of Solidarity here.
In this Knowledge is Power workshop we will cover:
- An introduction to the Right to Remain Toolkit and other guides, such as our legal updates, the Young Asylum Guide, and the Asylum Navigation Board.
- An overview of the stages of the asylum system, including the changes brought in by the Nationality and Borders Act.
- The difference between legal advice and legal support
As a result of our workshops, people report feeling more confident in being about to share information with people about the asylum system.
How do I sign up?
Sign up to the next Knowledge is Power workshop below!
There is a small fee for individuals at funded organisations. We found that this made it easier for us to ensure the places were being filled, and people who sign up actually attend.
We have a maximum of 25 participants at our online workshop. we also have a maximum of 2 people per organisation, to spread the knowledge more widely.
If you are currently going through the asylum and immigration system, or if you are a volunteer of an unfunded organisation, you can book a place for free.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
