Updated EU nationals page of the Right to Remain Toolkit

Legal Updates

EU Flag

We have updated the EU/EEA nationals page of the Right to Remain Toolkit (our guide to the UK asylum and immigration system) now that the main deadline for the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) has passed. The main deadline was 30 June 2021 but there are different deadlines for some family members, and for upgrading your Pre-Settled Status to Settled Status.

Applications made after the 30 June 2021 deadline may still be considered, if you have what the Home Office consider to be “reasonable grounds” for missing the deadline. See page 27 onwards of the Home Office guidance here.

We’ll update the page again if more information from the Home Office is forthcoming – the major issues with the online application system as the deadline approached have been widely publicised, but whether the Home Office make any concessions on this basis is not yet known.

SUPPORT OUR WORK

On reaching the UK, people face a hostile environment. Without help, many will be forcibly sent back to the wars, persecution and misery they have fled.

Your donation will help us to help people in their struggle for the right to remain in the UK, and to campaign for migration justice
