Thanks to funding from the Lush Charity Pot, fantastic film-making by Showman Media and amazing support from the Researching Multilingually at the Borders project at Glasgow University, we are proud to present our new short films providing an introduction to taking action for the right to remain, based on the Right to Remain Toolkit.
The videos are available in English, French, Arabic, Spanish and Farsi – thanks to crowd-sourced language-speakers! We were very lucky that Glasgow-based actor Maryam Hamidi volunteered to present the English-language video, known for her role in the soap River City … and an absolute delight to work with.
See the videos in other languages here.
As well the introduction videos – an introduction to understanding the asylum and immigration system in the UK, and taking action for the right to remain – we have a short video about going public with your story, the benefits and risks.
See the video in other languages here.
We have also made a short film about Right to Remain, and how you can support our work.

(And if you’re wondering where the lovely images of the Right to Remain maze, the ‘Thinking about going public’ and other illustrations come from, they’re by 1000 Blackbirds, images for activists.)
