Introduction to the Toolkit, Tuesday 23 June, 10am – 11.30am. Register at the bottom of this page.

Join this introductory workshop on navigating the Right to Remain Toolkit. Perfect for individuals and groups who want to understand how to get the most out of the resource, and how to share it with others.

In this session, you can expect:

Practical, interactive workshop on how to use and share the Toolkit
These sessions are designed to give you and your group confidence in using the Toolkit yourselves and to pass that knowledge on to others you support in an empowering way. We will take you through definitions, how to use the search function, and key tips for sharing. We will also briefly look at the difference between providing legal support and legal advice. The workshop length is 1 hour 15 mins, but we allow for 1 hour 30 to include Q+A, feedback, and making connections in the meeting.

Online
Sessions are delivered on Zoom, making them accessible to groups across the UK. We can run the session as part of your staff and volunteer meeting, training or as a stand-alone session. We are particularly keen to connect with small groups who are the backbone of the migration justice movement!

Built-in feedback
As a small organisation, feedback is really important to us; it helps us understand what’s working, what could be better, and how we can continue offering meaningful workshops and resources. We include 15 minutes for feedback within the session. It helps us continue to improve the resource and ensure it meets the needs of communities on the ground.

Impact of workshop check-in
– We run these sessions with the hope that attendees will share their learning with colleagues, teams, and wider communities. In the months following the workshop, we may check in with you to learn whether the workshop has influenced your work, led to any changes in practice, or encouraged you to share what you learned with others. Previous examples include participants creating and delivering their own version of the workshop for their communities, and another group using the Toolkit to develop preparation materials for Substantive Interview scenarios.

Who is the workshop for?

These sessions are ideal for community groups, support organisations, volunteers, caseworkers, and anyone who works directly with people going through the asylum and immigration system, and wants to better support them to use the Toolkit themselves.

How do I join?

The workshop is free for any group or organisation with income less than £1million. You can register below if your organisation falls in this category.

If your organisational income is above £1million, the cost is £10. Please email me, and I will explain how you can make payment for your ticket.

Please note it is a basic introduction to the Toolkit, and we won’t be deep diving into any legal education topics. Spaces are limited to two per organisation.
