We sat down with Zena Kazeme, Senior Refugee Resettlement Officer, and Sarah Abbas, OpenARMs Assistant, to hear more about the important work that Sufra do. 

This series – In Search of radical solidarity- aims to raise the profile of these groups, so we can learn the true meaning of radical solidarity from each other. We spoke to Sheila Rushforth, one of the organisers of Journey LGBT+ Asylum Group, about their work and how they create a safe space for their members: 

On 21 July 2023, we facilitated a workshop with MILK Cafe and Unity Sisters in Glasgow. This event was a chance to see how the Right to Remain Toolkit can be used to support a community-based peer advocacy project.

Right to Remain is one of 290 organisations coming together to condemn the government’s Illegal Migration Act.

At Right to Remain, we are gearing up to become a lead cheerleader for radical solidarity. We have been working hard to connect with small grassroots groups, especially those who use our resources, attend our workshops and share their campaigns with us.

Right to Remain spoke to Derbyshire Refugee Solidariy, one of the many grassroots groups who use our Toolkit. Their motto is “There is no them. There is only us.”.
