We are sharing this urgent call to action for our sister Arjeta, who was detained only a week after we met her during our Liverpool Solidarity Session, a space we built to prepare and empower communities in case of detention.
We met Arjeta on 23 September, full of life and compassion, making sure everyone felt comfortable. She spoke with love about the women she supports through 4Wings Liverpool, a women’s group offering emotional and practical support to those seeking asylum, women at risk of detention, and survivors of domestic abuse.
Arjeta is a much-loved member of our Liverpool community, known for her kindness, strength, and courage. She came to the UK after surviving modern-day slavery in Albania, where she was trafficked and trapped by a violent gang for three long years.
In Liverpool, Arjeta rebuilt her life with the help of friends and community groups. She joined Everton Women’s Walking Football and Movema, sharing joy and strength wherever she went.
But on October 1st, 2025, Arjeta was suddenly detained and now faces deportation back to Albania, where the same gang that trafficked her is still active. She is terrified of being sent back into danger. She has now been served with a deportation order for tomorrow (Tuesday) and is being moved from Derwentside to Yarl’s Wood this afternoon (Monday).
The hostile environment is escalating, and time is running out. Arjeta’s case is not isolated, there are many women currently detained, silenced, and facing removal. Your support could help save a life and send a message that no woman should be punished for seeking safety.
Please take urgent action:
- Sign the petition to stop Arjeta’s deportation
- Donate to her legal fundraising, as she is not eligible for legal aid and faces huge costs
