at the Lesbian and Gay Foundation, 5 Richmond St, Manchester, M1 3HF
-
12-4pm: Training: working together to win the right to remain
-
4-6pm: Launch event – Right to Remain evening social
Both events are free, but booking is essential
Right to Remain is the new name for NCADC, the National Coalition of Anti-Deportation Campaigns. In 2013, our members voted to change our name to better reflect the work we do, (and for a name that is much easier to say!). Come and find out more in Manchester this May!
Training workshop: 12 – 4pm
Interactive training on campaigning for the right to remain. What does campaigning mean? What can campaigning achieve? What are the benefits and risks of campaigning?
The workshop includes exercises, discussion and information-sharing for participants to learn about: effective campaigning strategies, the difference between public and non-public campaigning, how campaigning fits in with the legal process, and how to work with local campaigners and people interested in human rights to form active campaigning and support networks.
All participants are invited to stay for some food and conversation at our launch event following the training.
Right to Remain launch event: 4pm – 6pm
We are delighted to invite you to our launch event to celebrate the new name for NCADC: Right to Remain.
Join us for food and conversation, meet staff, volunteers and management committee members of Right to Remain and hear about our work, and get to know other people involved in campaigning and migrants’ rights in the Manchester area.
You do not need to attend the training session to come to the launch event – you may want to just pop in on your way home from work and say hello!
Both events are free, but booking is essential.
Please email lisa@righttoremain.org.uk telling us:
- Are you coming to the training? If so give a brief explanation of your interest or previous involvement in campaigning
- Are you coming to the launch event?
- or are you coming to both?
