Two people standing in front of and pointing at a colourful flow chart of the asylum process

UPDATE 13 May 2025 – We are very very sorry, but we had to cancel this Knowledge is Power session due to unforseen circumstances. We will let you know as soon as we can when we are going to be running our next session.

==========================================================================

Our signature Knowledge is Power workshop is back! Join us on Wednesday 14 May for an evening session on Zoom, from 6pm – 8pm.

Our Knowledge is Power workshop is designed to help you to get to grips with the basics of the asylum system and our Right to Remain Toolkit.

At our Knowledge is Power workshops we share important information about the asylum process and your rights. We will build our confidence in understanding the system, so that you can help yourself, or someone you are supporting, to be in a better position. As a result of our workshops, people report feeling more confident in being about to share information with people about the asylum system.

Workshops such as this are so important, especially now that language such as ‘illegal’ migration has become commonplace. At Right to Remain we believe that No One is Illegal. Read our Statement of Solidarity here.

In this workshop we will cover:

  • An introduction to the Right to Remain Toolkit and other guides, such as our legal updates, the Young Asylum Guide, and the Asylum Navigation Board.
  • An overview of the stages of the asylum system, including the changes brought in by recent legislation.
  • The difference between legal advice and legal support.

How do I sign up?

Sign up to the next Knowledge is Power workshop using one of the forms below.

Funded organisations: £30.00

If your organisation has income, or paid staff members, the cost of the ticket is £30. We found that this made it easier for us to ensure the places were being filled, and people who sign up actually attend. This also helps to support free spaces for people without funds.

Unfunded / going through the asylum or immigration system: limited free tickets – sold out.

We have a maximum of 35 participants at our online workshop. we also have a maximum of 2 people per organisation, to spread the knowledge more widely.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

    I’m confused. The date for the Right to Remain Knowledge is Power zoom meeting is advertised as 14 May. Your response to my request for a free ticket above says 15 May. Which is correct? Thank you.
