Inside our Toolkit workshop with Journey LGBTQ+ Asylum Seekers Group

On Tuesday 18th October, we were delighted to hold a Toolkit workshop for Journey, a group that offers support to LGTBQ+ asylum seekers and refugees in Birmingham. The workshop was held at Carrs Lane Church, and it was our fourth workshop in the city in recent months, as we try to better understand the situation for people seeking asylum there.

Campaign Success: airline pulls out of Rwanda flight plan

As the result of campaigns carried out by survivors of torture and asylum and migrant rights’ organisations (such as the #StopTheFlights hashtag campaign), Privilege Style has said that it is no longer planning to operate flights to Rwanda. This shows the enormous power that solidarity can generate – we must do everything to continue to harness it.

Right to Remain was delighted to run a training workshop for new members of the Refugees at Home team on Thursday 22 September. Refugees at Home is a UK charity which connects those with a spare room in their home to refugees and asylum seekers in need of somewhere to stay.

Two months ago, Right to Remain team ran two successful Knowledge is Power online workshops on 13 June 2022, during the Solidarity Knows No Borders’ Week of Action to End the Hostile Environment. We started running more workshops recently to get more people to use the Toolkit – find out what we cover during these online sessions.
