On Tuesday 18th October, we were delighted to hold a Toolkit workshop for Journey, a group that offers support to LGTBQ+ asylum seekers and refugees in Birmingham. The workshop was held at Carrs Lane Church, and it was our fourth workshop in the city in recent months, as we try to better understand the situation for people seeking asylum there.

As the result of campaigns carried out by survivors of torture and asylum and migrant rights’ organisations (such as the #StopTheFlights hashtag campaign), Privilege Style has said that it is no longer planning to operate flights to Rwanda. This shows the enormous power that solidarity can generate – we must do everything to continue to harness it.

On 11 October 2022, Right to Remain had the opportunity to run a workshop for Women with Hope, a Birmingham-based charity. Women with Hope is a member-led group whose focus is on improving the lives of women asylum-seekers, refugees and migrants with support, group activities, and training.
